The purpose of this award is to contribute to the development of accelerator science by awarding the following four prizes to researchers and engineers who have made particularly outstanding achievements in research related to accelerators and their use.
Nishikawa Prize: Awarded to one or more researchers and engineers who have made internationally acclaimed achievements with outstanding originality in experimental or theoretical research on high-energy accelerators including its application. Koshiba Prize: Awarded to one or more researchers and engineers who have made internationally acclaimed achievements with outstanding originality in research and development of detector technology in basic science such as the field of elementary particle physics. Suwa Prize: Awarded to one or more researchers, engineers, or research groups who are recognized as having made particularly outstanding achievements, such as significant long-term contributions to the development of accelerator science. Kumagai Prize: Awarded to one or more accelerator-related personnel from a company who have made outstanding contributions to accelerators science through research and development, facility construction, and other important activities over many years.
Approximately 5 awards in total for four prizes.
A cash prize (¥300,000) and a plaque will be awarded for each subject.
The Foundation’s Selection Committee will select candidates recommended by the public, and the Board of Directors will make a decision.

(2) Selection materials:For the Nishikawa, Koshiba, and Suwa Prize, published papers (including open access) on the research achievements, and for the Kumagai Prize, papers or materials related to the achievements should be attached (not more than three papers) as PDF files.
